The Madagascar variety features deeply ridged, rounded shield fronds that develop pronounced folds in the upper half when given adequate light. Special Notes: Native to Madagascar, this variety is one of the original 18 staghorn species and considered easier to grow than many rare varieties. More tolerant of excess water compared to the African form of P. alcicorne. Goes dormant in winter when shield fronds naturally die back - reduce watering during this period.
