Stephania Kaweesakii "Nova"

Stephania kaweesakii ‘Nova’ is a caudiciform plant with a rough storage base and striking round leaves, one leaf carried on each individual stalk. It can spend part of its cycle looking like an object you found on a walk, then produce a single upright stem as though it has remembered an appointment. This growth habit matters: it is not a twining vine in the style of some other Stephania. The exposed caudex and the improbably neat leaf do all the work. ‘Nova’ appears to be a seller or selection name; its origin needs confirmation. The leaf arrived alone. It considers that sufficient.
